Let me ask you a question do you love yourself and are you happy? Thinking about it right because I have come to realize how people at times to find it very difficult to love themselves. They are so cut up in loving others and making others happy but silently drowning inside. It's very easy for you to neglect yourself and focusing on others. Well, one thing you should know is that the "me factor" is very important and you should not just be too concerned about others but also putting yourself in the picture because you cannot give out what you do not have. If you have an unhealthy image about yourself and you find it hard to love who you are it will reflect the world unknown to you. It's not easy to develop this self-love and be happy with the real you but it's a decision you have to make alone and not just settle for the love that other people are given you. Get this no one is perfect and love together with happiness is a decision you have to make daily if not you won't be able to love yourself or even be happy with what you do.
So what things can you do to develop this self-love and be happy with yourself?
1. Stop trying to be perfect
To be perfect is a very wrong mindset that the world is putting on us. From the perfect looks to the most appropriate shape. As if that is not even enough how we should look perfect in clothes. This is wrong because the world itself is not perfect and life isn't either. You need to stop following the crowd in living a life of perfection. When you come to this realization you will be happy with your flaws and weakness plus develop a unique love for yourself.
2. Say positive things
There is power in the words you speak especially what one you continually say about yourself. This should be a habit were you say sweet and lovely things to you. There is no need to wait for someone to shower praises and positive words on you. Take that bold step to say good things about yourself and in time it will start acting out. Doing this over a long period will make you fall in love with the positive version of yourself.
3. Develop healthy habits
This is a secret in being happy and loving yourself. Choose to be healthy by eating the right food, control your drinking, and exercise regularly. Doing this regularly will lower the chance of you hating yourself because a healthy lifestyle is a happy life. Engage in Making this a habit by building this habit every day and in no time you will love the person you a becoming.
4. Have a "me time"
Well, this is a time where you just shut the world in order to reflect on life and yourself. Reflecting on yourself makes you be more aware of the person you are. This makes you discover new and amazing things about yourself, accepting the real you, and being honest with your emotions. The most thing people fail to do is to have that time for themselves. As you take out time for the world also have that special time for yourself were you meditate, reflect, and learn new things about yourself. This will naturally bring out in you a fresh love for life you are living.
5. Treat yourself
Before anything in this life, you are very important and you only get to live this life once. So stop waiting for others to give a treat take yourself out spoil, pamper, and make yourself feel very important. Make an effort to buy things for yourself if it's a dress you have been admiring but put it off because of issues save up money and buy it or a place that you dream of going to make a move to go there. This will make you happy and open your heart to self-love.
6. Learn a new habit
When you make the decision to learn something new it brings out the excitement that will make you more eager to do more in life. It doesn't matter how long it will take you to learn to take your time and do it at your pace. It will make you fulfilled and happy that you can do something new.
7. Be patient
Do not engage in the habit of rushing yourself or worse putting unnecessary pressure on yourself to achieve something. Take it from a child if you create too much pressure on a child it makes the child at a point to be unhappy and withdrawn. Stop mounting pressure on yourself to do or achieve something. If it's not working out try to think of another way to do it and be very patient.
8. Forgive yourself
The major reason why you will find it hard to love yourself is that you have not forgiven yourself from past mistakes. As mentioned earlier no one is perfect as a result of that it's normal for you to make mistakes. You have to realize that mistake is normal and is the first stage in learning. Be aware of this and let go of that hurt and mistake you have been holding on to yourself. This will make it easy for you to love yourself more.
Being happy with yourself and loving who you are is not a day job just know that. To be honest there will be times where you will feel like there's no need for me to love myself or be happy with the life I am living. But making the decision every day to carry out the steps towards self-love will take you closer each day to your happy place.
